Well, we all knew that it was too good to be true. The fact that the Campus Carry Bill made it through several committees on the Representative side in Tallahassee did not mean it would make it through the Senate. It was pulled from it’s most recent committee agenda which meant it did not even get a vote. Go figure!!!

“The lies involved in the stalling of this bill are unfortunate and despicable,” Rebekah Hargrove, president of Students for Concealed Carry at Florida State University, said in a statement. “Sen. Diaz de la Portilla is simply too afraid to have his name associated with a divisive bill, even though he has previously claimed to be a supporter of the Second Amendment.”

DIVORCE AGREEMENT – WRITTEN BY YOUNG COLLEGE STUDENT
First published May 28th, 2012 – 30 star rating. The person that wrote this is a college student. Perhaps there is hope for us after all.
Dear American liberals, leftists, social progressives, socialists, Marxists and Obama supporters, et al: We have stuck together since the late 1950’s for the sake of the kids, but the whole of this latest election process has made me realize that I want a divorce. I know we tolerated each other for many years for the sake of future generations, but sadly, this relationship has clearly run its course.
Our two ideological sides of America cannot and will not ever agree on what is right for us all, so let’s just end it on friendly terms. We can smile and chalk it up to irreconcilable differences and go our own way.
Here is a model separation agreement:
–Our two groups can equitably divide up the country by landmass each taking a similar portion. That will be the difficult part, but I am sure our two sides can come to a friendly agreement. After that, it should be relatively easy! Our respective representatives can effortlessly divide other assets since both sides have such distinct and disparate tastes.
–We don’t like redistributive taxes so you can keep them.
–You are welcome to the liberal judges and the ACLU.–Since you hate guns and war, we’ll take our firearms, the cops, the NRA and the military.
–We’ll take the nasty, smelly oil industry and you can go with wind, solar and biodiesel.
–We’ll keep capitalism, greedy corporations, pharmaceutical companies, Wal-Mart and Wall Street.
–You can have your beloved lifelong welfare dwellers, food stamps, homeless, homeboys, hippies, druggies and illegal aliens.
–We’ll keep the hot Alaskan hockey moms, greedy CEO’s and rednecks.
–We’ll keep the Bibles and give you NBC and Hollywood
–You can make nice with Iran and Palestine and we’ll retain the right to invade and hammer places that threaten us.
–You can have the peaceniks and Occupiers. When our allies or our way of life are under assault, we’ll help provide them security.
–We’ll keep our Judeo-Christian values.
–You are welcome to Islam, Scientology, Humanism, political correctness and Shirley McClain. You can also have the U.N. but we will no longer be paying the bill.
–We’ll keep the SUV’s, pickup trucks and oversized luxury cars. You can take every Volt and Leaf you can find.
–You can give everyone healthcare if you can find any practicing doctors.
–We’ll continue to believe healthcare is a luxury and not a right.
–We’ll keep “The Battle Hymn of the Republic” and “The National Anthem.”
–I’m sure you’ll be happy to substitute “Imagine”, “I’d Like to Teach the World to Sing”, “Kum Ba Ya” or “We Are the World”.
–We’ll practice trickle down economics and you can continue to give trickle up poverty your best shot.
–Since it often so offends you, we’ll keep our history, our name and our flag.

Legislative Shoot-out Expected in the U.S. SenateWithin the next 72 hours, gun owners should expect votes in the U.S. Senate on:* Outlawing ATF bullet bans
* Concealed Carry Reciprocity
* Prohibiting Senate anti-gun amendments.We expect more gun-related showdowns in the next 72 hours than in the next 9 months combined. At least 5 gun-related amendments are expected on the Budget Resolution — a once-a-year vehicle that gives senators an opportunity to get hundreds of votes on any issue they choose.
And at least five senators have chosen to get votes on guns.
We have already told you about the Crapo amendment to shut down Operation Choke Point — which has been used by Eric Holder to try to financially strangle the gun industry.
But there are other amendments as well:
* An amendment by Senator Jim Inhofe (R-OK) and David Vitter (R-LA) to prohibit ATF from banning bullets — in the way it tried to do with AR-15 ammunition;
* Another amendment by Senator Inhofe to block any and all funding for the implementation of the UN Arms Trade Treaty;
* An amendment by Senator Mike Lee (R-UT) to prohibit any more anti-gun amendments in the Senate — be they semi-auto bans, magazine bans, universal gun registries, etc. — unless anti-gunners get more Senate votes than they will ever conceivably be able to achieve;
* And there is an amendment to prohibit the ATF from copying 4473′s and using them to compile a national gun registry; and another one to push national concealed carry reciprocity — in a way that allows residents of “constitutional carry” states to carry without asking “May I?” from the government first.
It is critically important that you chime in with respect to all of these amendments.
One final point: If you read the amendments, they are filled with “budgety” language about “reserve funds,” and so forth. But the important thing to know is that this is an exercise in freezing in pro-gun votes. We killed UN Arms Trade Treaty with a budget amendment like these. And, once we freeze in our headcounts, we can stick these same amendments onto the non-filibusterable reconciliation bill — or on the appropriations bills when they begin to move in a couple of months.
But if you hate bullet bans — or if you like national concealed carry reciprocity — or if you want to permanently preclude anti-gun amendments in the Senate — now is the time to make your voice heard.

Over the last five years, as Sunshine State News covered Florida politics, among the biggest stories was the emergence of U.S. Rep. Ted Yoho, R-Fla. Yoho has become one of the leaders of the tea party across the nation.
While he is best known nationally for making waves in Washington, standing up to U.S. House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, Yoho pulled off one of the biggest upsets in Florida political history in August 2012 when he ousted U.S. Rep. Cliff Stearns in the Republican primary. Read more at: sunshinestatenews.com.

ALERT! Carrying Firearms During Mandatory Evacuation
FROM: Marion P. Hammer, USF Executive Director, NRA Past President
SB-290, Firearms/Emergency Evacuation by Senator Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Community Affairs Committee on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1:00PM.
SB-290 is a bill to protect citizens from being disarmed and charged with a crime for carrying a weapon or firearm during a mandatory evacuation ordered by the Governor or local government during a declared state of emergency.
WHY DO WE NEED SB-290?
When you’re ordered under a mandatory evacuation to take your family, pets and important documents and leave your home and other belongings behind, you should be not be deprived of the ability to protect yourself and your family. You should not be denied the right to take your firearms with you rather than leave them behind for looters. This bill is especially important for law-abiding people in a state that is prone to evacuations due to hurricanes. This bill is about your safety and the safety of your family. Read the bill here: SB-290 Emergency Evacuation
Please EMAIL Committee members IMMEDIATELY and ask them to SUPPORT SB-290

Long Island Woman Receives $1.12 Million For False Prosecution
A Long Island federal jury rewarded Nancy Genovese, 58, a mother of three, $1.12 million in compensatory damages after being arrested in 2009 for attempting to photograph a helicopter at a Air National Guard base in the Hamptons. Genovese intended to use the photo on a “Support the Troops” website; she was arrested for trespass and insulted as a “Teabagger.”
From The New York Post:
Southhampton cops searched her and found a legally owned rifle that she was transporting from a nearby rifle range. She contends a deputy sheriff arrived on the scene later and said to her, “I bet you are one of those Tea Party people.” When Genovese said she’s gone to Tea Party rallies, he allegedly said, “You’re a real right-winger, aren’t you?” and “You are a ‘Teabagger’” and then added that she’d be arrested for terrorism to make an example of other “right wingers.”

Note: There are issues on the forefront right now that may be much more significant to most people than this story: the CROmnibus, ISIS and President Obama’s lawless Executive Amnesty to name a few, but not to worry, I’ll be back at them soon – Just taking a few days away from them trying to calm down a little – ADB.
Today is Pearl Harbor Day
At long last, the conventional wisdom about the 2014 midterms is here: It’s an election about nothing.
Nov 3, 2014, Vol. 20, No. 08 • By STEPHEN F. HAYES
The Washington Post may have been first in declaring the coming midterms “kind of—and apologies to Seinfeld here—an election about nothing.” But the Daily Beast chimed in: “America seems resigned to a Seinfeld election in 2014—a campaign about nothing.” And New York magazine noted (and embraced) the cliché: The midterm election “has managed to earn a nickname from the political press: the ‘Seinfeld Election,’ an election about nothing.”
Soon enough this description was popping up everywhere—the New Republic, the Los Angeles Times, the Christian Science Monitor, Bloomberg, Politico, and many others. The 2014 Midterms, the Seinfeld Election.
Others posited something even worse. “The 2014 campaign has been the most boring and uncreative campaign I can remember,” wrote New York Times columnist David Brooks. That wasn’t harsh enough for Chris Cillizza at the Washington Post, who went further. The election isn’t just “boring,” he wrote, “it’s vapid and inconsequential.”
The big television networks seem to agree. The signature newscasts of ABC, NBC, and CBS have barely found the upcoming elections worthy of notice. According to the Media Research Center, ABC’s World News Tonight didn’t run a single story about the midterms between September 1 and October 20. Over that same seven-week period, NBC and CBS evening newscasts ran just 11 and 14 stories, respectively. (It probably goes without saying that the networks found the prospective Democratic triumph in the 2006 midterms much more compelling. Over the same time period that year, NBC ran 65 stories about the midterms, CBS ran 58, and ABC ran 36.)
We have a different view.
Not only is this election not about nothing, it is being fought over exactly the kinds of things that ought to determine our elections.
It’s about the size and scope of government. It’s about the rule of law. It’s about the security of the citizenry. It’s about competence. It’s about integrity. It’s about honor [Bold type, mine].

Yet again a very disturbing trend by a very successful company who is now turning it’s back on the principles and rights that allowed it to prosper and grow. The company, Square, is a credit card merchant business that has revolutionized and made it less expensive for businesses to complete credit card transactions over their smart phones. It has truly made credit card purchases possible almost anywhere.
But last summer, around the same time the U.S. Department of Justice’s Operation Choke Point began pressuring banks to drop customers who buy or sell firearms, tobacco and other goods considered “not acceptable” by the Obama administration, Square quietly changed its terms of agreement.

No doubt this will probably make it all the way to the U.S. Supreme Court but bit by bit gun ban activists continue to lose.
From Bizpac Review-
A federal judge ruled Saturday that the nation’s capital’s ban on carrying guns outside the home is unconstitutional, dealing a serious blow to the gun grabbing crowd.
In a landmark decision, Judge Frederick Scullin Jr. wrote in Palmer v. District of Columbia, “there is no longer any basis on which this court can conclude that the District of Columbia’s total ban on the public carrying of ready-to-use handguns outside the home is constitutional under any level of scrutiny,” Fox News reported.

We don’t need no stinking Second Amendment!
After being burned by his nomination of Debo Adegbile to head up the civil rights division at the Department of Justice, President Obama has jumped right back into the fray with another radical nominee, this time for Surgeon General.
But what makes Vivek Hallegere Murthy such a controversial choice for the post is not what you might expect. It’s not that he is a champion of late-term abortions (though he probably is) or believes in fully government-subsidized sex reassignment surgeries (though he probably does).
The problem with Murthy, rather, is his position on guns. Namely, he thinks one of the questions doctors should ask patients during a routine medical history is whether the person has any guns in his home. Read more at: libertyunyielding.com.
So last night the President stated “Citizenship means standing up for the lives that gun violence steals from us each day.”
For the millions of Naturalized Citizens like myself, Citizenship gives me the right to own a firearm and SHOOT the low life criminal who intends harm on me or my family. PERIOD.
