Let me begin by acknowledging that this inspirational title is lifted from a tweet by screen actor James Woods. And now I will explicate his tweet.
Every sentient human being whose brain isn’t stuffed with ideological fairy dust can see that Obama is behind every major scandal of his administration from Benghazi to the I.R.S. disgrace. How can one know this? Because the culprits haven’t been fired. Moreover, if they are serial liars like Susan Rice, they’ve actually been promoted to posts where their loyalty to the criminal-in-chief can do America and its citizens even more damage, if that is possible. With the overwhelmingly bipartisan vote for the Veterans Access, Choice and Accountability Act of 2014, Congress passed the most significant reforms to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in decades. And, right on cue, here come the grumblings from the second-guessers.
As the bill was on its way to the president’s desk for signing, the critics stepped up to denounce the $16.3 billion congressional compromise.
For example, guests on a Fox News panel savaged the bill, claiming (implausibly) that it was “designed more for unions than veterans.” Meanwhile, an August 4 Wall Street Journal editorial suggests the additional funding for patient choice means that the “VA is being rewarded for failure.”
The argument is that the new legislation will do nothing more than prop up a failing bureaucracy. This represents a serious misreading of the bill’s key provisions. Read more at: weeklystandard.com.

I know there are many disturbing events taking place right now that are dominating the news cycle: Our total failures in Iraq and the rise of ISIL, the ridiculous border crisis and amnesty, our absentee Golfer in Chief to name just a few, but there are so many things going on that don’t get covered. As the grandfather of a teenager with special needs, this article really struck home:
From fixthisnation.com: It’s impossible to say when the pro-environment movement crossed from the responsible into the ridiculous, but it can be said for certain that they have been there for some time. The latest example of the government overstepping their bounds has a public school in Jurupa Valley, California telling students with special needs to dig through the garbage to find recyclables.
Carmen Wells, the parent of one of the students, raised the biggest furor when her son came home ashamed after the first day of school at Patriot Valley High..
“It bothered my son, but he wants to be part of everyone, part of the team, so he’s going to do it,” Wells said. “I felt victimized for my child and his classmates.”
District officials confirm students with special needs were instructed to sift through trash cans for recyclables and that they’ve been having students with special needs do this for years. They said the money raised from the recycled items funds a larger training plan that teaches students with special needs about managing money, among other life skills.
The school district suspended the program once the outrage started pouring in, telling the media that they would consider getting some different bins for the recycling. What a concept. It’s also a pretty sad statement if the school thinks the “life skills” these students need involve sifting through garbage to find plastic bottles.
Forcing special needs children to dig through the trash for recyclable materials may be a new low as far as government programs go, but it is not the first time recycling has hurt people, hurt businesses, and even hurt the environment.
- A late 90s scientific study showed that hundreds of Taiwanese buildings had been built from contaminated recycled steel, contaminating thousands of people with high levels of gamma radiation.
- It came to light in 2007 that a Seattle recycling factory was among the biggest sources of airborne pollution in the entire Northwest.
- Finally, it’s a little known fact that most kinds of common plastic cannot even be recycled. It all gets thrown into the bins (well, in those areas that bother to separate them beforehand), and then the non-recyclables get thrown into the landfill anyway. Environmentalists, therefore, call on people to sort through their recyclables again to make sure you’re only throwing the right kind of plastic into the blue bins.
In the face of all this, it would seem that the average person could be trusted to at least decide for themselves whether or not they want to recycle. There are arguments against the practice of non-aluminum recycling that cite higher costs and little environmental benefit, particularly when it comes to residential curbside recycling. For the most part, the federal government has kept its hands clean of legislation, but there are a few cities such as Seattle that levy fines against homeowners who don’t recycle.
“I’ve been around awhile and I’ve seen a lot of presidents come and go, I don’t think we’ve ever had a more pathetic commander in chief in our life. Does he not know what his policies are? What are his policies? What IS his foreign policy? Can his people even tell us what his foreign policy is, can he? Can his Secretary of Defense, or Secretary of State? Our enemies are on the move, they’re on the move because of HIM. Not because of the prior president, not because of other presidents, not because of James Buchannan or John Tyler or anybody else – because of HIM. He’s hollowing out our military. At the same time he’s telling the world what we’re NOT goin’ to do, he’s playing golf, he’s on Martha’s Vineyard, he’s busy attacking Republicans. The guy is, he’s not focused, he’s disconnected from reality. We have a real problem in this country.” – Mark Levin
It was an applause line during almost every campaign address made by President Obama in 2012: “I promised to end the war in Iraq, and I did.”
Now, he’s backing off.
President Obama ordered a full troop withdrawal from Iraq, which was completed in December 2011. But the country did not stabilize, as was predicted by Obama and key members of his administration. Instead, it has descended into greater chaos with the violent al Qaeda offshoot ISIL threatening to take over the country. Read more.

It is such common sense as to be undeniable that basic journalism requires a party label to be affixed to a story about an elected public official, the president excepted. It is the DNA of the “who” in a news report. “Senator Robert Byrd, the Democratic senator from West Virginia, died today.” Take out “Democratic” and try that sentence. It doesn’t work. “Mike Lee, GOP senator from Utah and God’s gift to mankind, coasted to reelection last night.” Ditto.
It follows that the rule applies to stories about political scandal, precisely because it’s just that — politics. But what happens when that cardinal rule is applied to one party but ignored for the other? Favoritism? Bias? No, it’s far worse than just that. It is a commitment to abide by the rules of journalism with one party and then a deliberate attempt to protect the other, even if it means violating the most basic rules of news reporting. For a long time, the City ofGainesville (since 1960) and Alachua County(since 1995) have been charging a “utility tax” to GRU customers. Specifically, our local governments have:
1) applied their “utility tax” at the maximum “not to exceed” rate of 10% to the customer charge, which is not a “purchase” within the meaning of Florida Statute §166.231.
2) applied their “utility tax” to the separate mandatory State Gross Receipts Tax without authorization. Moreover, since the “utility tax” cannot be applied to “Fuel”, but the Gross Receipts Tax must, “Fuel” is being taxed indirectly despite an express §166.231 (1) (b) statutory prohibition. This is being done inconsistently on electric but not gas bills – despite the fact §166.231 applies to both.
3) the GRU surcharge for Out-of-City residents is likewise miscalculated as described in paragraph 2 above.
For a complete explanation, copies of the refund requests pending and other money saving tips, please go to www.grutaxrefund.org. For assistance in applying for your refund, please contact Jim Konish @ firstname.lastname@example.org.
We urge all GRU ratepayers to act. Our local governments must be held accountable for the erroneous and unfair application of this “utility tax” and surcharges on our already way too expensive GRU bills. The City of Gainesville and GRU are collecting over $10,000,000 in “utility tax”, and $9,000,000 in surcharges annually. Alachua County and GRU are collecting approximately $3,500,000 annually. And as our rates continue to rise so will this onerous tax and surcharge. You cannot afford to ignore this!
Funny how the left always pins crony capitalism and money to the GOP. Even worse is the fact that most everyone buys it. Not so FAST-
Democrats in Congress have excused the actions of senior IRS bureaucrats, arguing that these Tea Party groups threaten to flood the political system with money from undisclosed sources. Yet at the same time, Democrat politicians benefit from millions in Big Green cash that goes toward groups with similarly political and policy-based goals, and some of that money comes from at least one shadowy foreign source.

Common Core Action Meeting – Thursday August 7th
From John Beck:
Many of you attended the Common Core meeting at Countryside Baptist Church on July 15th. Dr Pesta’s presentation was the best I have seen in the two years I have been working to repeal Common Core. If you did not see the presentation, you can view a similar one here https://fpeusa.org/index.php/
At that meeting, Florida Representative Keith Perry agreed to work on passing legislation to repeal Common Core. Tim Marden, Newberry City Commissioner, and I have scheduled a Common Core Action meeting to get together to coordinate our support for Representative Perry’s effort to repeal Common Core here in Florida. You can read Tim Marden’s editorial on Common Core here: http://www.gainesville.com/
It is important that we all have accurate information. This unified effort will save us all time and money. After speaking with several other leaders around Florida it will be important to review this information with you. This will maximize our efforts moving forward and to increase our chances of success. The meeting below will be to organize the group and focus our efforts. Bring pen and paper.
Please find the FACEBOOK EVENT HERE and RSVP or you can RSVP by email to Commoncorersvp@aol.com , the room only holds 40 people so don’t delay. Please promote the event by inviting friends, teachers, and others interested in our children’s and grandchildren’s education future.

Before Benghazi, There Was Extortion 17
Karen and Billy Vaughn are the parents of a fallen Navy Seal, Aaron Carson Vaughn. I met with the Vaughns when I spoke to a sold-out Tea Party event in Fort Lauderdale in June. The Vaughns are extraordinary heroes. Their courage to speak about Obama’s crippling rules of engagement is to be applauded.
The Vaughns have exposed the delusional U.S. military “rules of engagement” policy that led to the takedown of a Chinook helicopter, Extortion 17, by the Taliban. All 38 people on board the Chinook — 15 SEAL Team Six members (including Aaron Vaughn) and seven Afghan National Army commandos — were killed. The attack on Extortion 17 came just three months after the Osama bin Laden kill, and both Obama and Biden had identified the team that took OBL out. Retribution was inevitable. The student organization Students for Justice in Palestine (SJP) is prominent on many college campuses, preaching a mantra of “Freeing Palestine.” It masquerades as though it were a civil rights group when it is not. Indeed, as an African-American, I am highly insulted that my people’s legacy is being pilfered for such a repugnant agenda. It is thus high time to expose its agenda and lay bare some of the fallacies they peddle.
• If you seek to promulgate the legacy of early Islamic colonialists who raped and pillaged the Middle East, subjugated the indigenous peoples living in the region, and foisted upon them a life of persecution and degradation—you do not get to claim the title of “Freedom Fighter.”
• If you support a racist doctrine of Arab supremacism and wish (as a corollary of that doctrine) to destroy the Jewish state, you do not get to claim that the prejudices you peddle are forms of legitimate “resistance.”
• If your heroes are clerics who sit in Gaza plotting the genocide of a people; who place their children on rooftops in the hopes they will get blown to bits; who heap praises upon their fellow gang members when they succeed in murdering Jewish school boys and bombing places of activity where Jews congregate—you do not get to claim that you are some Apollonian advocate of human virtue. You are not. Read more at: tabletmag.com.
From Trevor Loudon, staunch defender of liberty:
“How will future generations look back on our gravest national emergency of all time? And how will they regard what their forebears didn’t do about it?
This will include what we didn’t do about border nullification, which collapsed the U.S. as a sovereign nation. What we didn’t do about the alignment of our foreign policy with that of jihad movements, which meant the end of liberty, also life itself, for our best allies. What we didn’t do about the growth of tyranny from corruption and Marxism in this cradle of liberty.”
“But another reason Congress did nothing when it still could was because practically every important conservative declared it was ‘premature’ to follow the former Constitution and impeach the tyrant. No public support for impeachment, they said. What we lacked, though, was a political leader to make the impeachment case and win that public support – or go down trying.”
