Congressman Ted Yoho: Thank You!

Many thanks to our Congressman Ted Yoho for his NAY vote on the Continuing Resolution, a vote for fiscal responsibility! He is standing firm for our principles and we are very fortunate to have him represent us! Please read his statement below.

Sep 17, 2014

Press Release
And a clear mission  against ISIL

Washington, DC – Congressman  Ted S. Yoho (R-FL-03) voted against H.J. Res. 124 – Continuing  Appropriations Resolution, 2015. The continuing resolution provides  funding for federal agencies at current fiscal year 2014 levels until December  11, 2014. Congressman Yoho also voted against an amendment to H.J. Res  124, which would authorize the Secretary of Defense, in coordination  with the Secretary of State, to provide assistance including training,  equipment, supplies, and sustainment to appropriately- vetted elements of the  Syrian opposition and other appropriately vetted Syrian groups and individuals.  Congressman Yoho gave the following statement after his votes.

“I could not, in good faith, vote for a  continuing resolution that is basically kicking the fiscal can down the road.  The House has been doing its job, passing seven appropriations bills that would  fund the Federal Government. These bills are sitting in Harry Reid’s Senate  collecting dust. Because the Senate is failing to do their job, we are forced to  pass a resolution to keep the government running for 72 days? There is no reason  we should have reached this point. It is unacceptable.

“I also could not support the amendment  funding the Syrian opposition forces, because it does not address the true  threat – the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL). Instead, it creates  the potential to involve the U.S. more deeply in the Syrian civil war.  Furthermore, the amendment was too vague in how it would vet the Free Syrian  Army members who receive our equipment; much less what equipment they would  receive.

“Make no mistake, ISIL must be stopped.  However, I felt the amendment will just repeat a history in which we fund, arm  and train fighters because we believe that the enemy of my enemy is my friend  only to see those supposed friends later turn those weapons and training on us.  Instead, I believe the President should seek new Congressional authority that is  narrow in focus, duration and scope coupled with a strategy that will defeat  ISIL and not embroil the U.S. in a seemingly endless, larger conflict. A  component of this strategy must be border security. I am introducing a security  bill to aid in the prevention of people with western passports with known  affiliations or ties to foreign terrorist groups from entering the U.S. The  world has a moral obligation to stop such evil. An evil, if left unchecked, will  eventually wind up on our shores.”

Happy Constitution Day

by Daniel Horowitz  * 17 Sep 2014, 5:53 AM PDT

Today, we celebrate the 227th anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution, but so many people will never know it. Because many Americans never studied why our founding documents are so unique, and they never learned the importance of our Constitutional Republic.

This lack of appreciation for our Constitution is why our original system of government is hardly recognizable. Most Americans living in the 21st century fail to appreciate the superiority of the American system of government. After all, there are many “liberal democracies” in the world that are not governed by dictators or monarchs, what is so unique about our form of democracy?

But the gradual erosion of freedom in this country over the past half century, culminating with the Obama presidency presents us with an opportune moment to hearken back to our funding principles and explore the uniqueness of our Constitutional Republic as it was originally conceived. America’s Sovereignty Threatened By Refugee Influx

In light of Obama’s demand for more tax dollars to “fight ISIS” this article is very important. What is the real motivation for more money? Since 9/11/2001,  the United States government has professed that we are being protected from Muslim radicals by waging a desultory war in Afghanistan and Iraq, all the while bringing more and more immigrants to our country under political asylum. Although asylum is certainly a compassionate foreign policy in many instances it should not go unheeded that our country is now being overrun with refugees who are not being vetted properly such as what is occurring on our southern border.  And the Muslim presence continues to grow as evidenced here in Alachua County by the lauding of the University of Florida’s newly unveiled Center For Islamic Studies. We are at a critical crossroad for our national sovereignty and citizens need to be prepared for the consequences should we give away our country’s borders.

“Since the early 1990s, the United Nations high commissioner for refugees has  selected more than 200,000 refugees from Islamic countries to be resettled in  the United States. Most of them have come from Somalia and Iraq.

Syria could soon be added to the mix in the midst of that country’s brutal  civil war. The Obama administration has been greasing the skids for the Syrian  refugees for months, WND has learned, and the refugees will soon be dumped on  American cities throughout the U.S.”

Yet Again Progressive Republicans Selling Us Down The River

In what has become the modus operandi of the  progressive Republican party the citizenry are about to be nailed yet again over the next three days as the House caves in to Obama’s demands. Not only is Congress poised to deliver everything the tyrant wants it will also revert back to funding the feds with a continuing resolution thus turning its back on the hard won return last year to a real budgetary process. All because Harry Reid has let the budget presented by Congress to sit on his desk with no Senate action. Citizens, pull out your wallets and surrender your sovereignty – we’re in for a nasty, bumpy ride.

“House Republicans are poised to extend the Export-Import Bank’s charter well  into next year, despite decrying the agency as an antiquated vestige of crony  capitalism. They will fund the federal government until mid-December without  much of a fight. And, most notably, they are rapidly moving toward giving the  White House authority to arm and train Syrian rebels, despite deep misgivings  about their ability to defeat the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant and even  deeper distrust of Obama’s foreign policy.”

Breaking: By Sharyl Attkisson, The Daily Signal

New Benghazi allegation puts spotlight on Hillary Clinton confidants, alleged after-hours document review.

As the House Select Committee on Benghazi prepares for its first hearing this week, a former State Department diplomat is coming forward with a startling allegation: Hillary Clinton confidants were part of an operation to “separate” damaging documents before they were turned over to the Accountability Review Board investigating security lapses surrounding the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attacks on the U.S. mission in Benghazi, Libya. Kudos To Burger King!

Burger King has merged with a Canadian company, Tim Horton’s, for many reasons but the one reason that will overwhelmingly benefit BK’s employees and customers is the lower tax rate for this hugely successful corporation. Congratulations and kudos to BK!

“Burger King has acquired Tim Horton’s for $11.4 billion U.S. While an optimist may hope this acquisition produces the donut technology needed for a mass-marketed Luther Burger, a realist has to acknowledge that it’s probably about corporate inversion.

Simply put, corporate inversion means a corporation reincorporates in a lower-tax country abroad. The common justification of taxation is that the government provides the public goods that business needs to prosper. But the United States is unique in that it taxes corporations at 35 percent regardless of where the income is earned, and hence regardless of whether the corporation benefited from any public goods.

“When a firm operates in a competitive environment, a reduction in tax rates translates into reduced prices for consumers. No one usually complains when firms find cheaper ways to produce and then pass these savings on to consumers. It is only a strange form of patriotism, driven largely by political interests, that equates love of country with the love of the IRS.”

BREAKING: Obama tells planet: Islamic State is NOT Islamic

President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden meet with members of the National Security Council in the Situation Room of the White House. Sept. 10, 2014.

In his prime-time speech to the nation on the eve of the 13th anniversary of the Sept. 11 terror attacks, President Obama vowed to “degrade and destroy” the Islamic State insurgency in Iraq and Syria with airstrikes and 475 U.S. boots on the ground – but he also made a particular point of declaring that the Islamic State terrorists “are not Islamic.”

“Now let’s make two things clear: ISIL is not Islamic,” Obama said, speaking from the state floor of the White House residence. “No religion condones the killing of innocents, and the vast majority of ISIL’s victims have been Muslim.”

He added, “And ISIL is certainly not a state. It was formerly al-Qaida’s affiliate in Iraq, and has taken advantage of sectarian strife and Syria’s civil war to gain territory on both sides of the Iraq-Syrian border. It is recognized by no government, nor the people it subjugates. ISIL is a terrorist organization, pure and simple. And it has no vision other than the slaughter of all who stand in its way.”  Read more at: www.wnd.com.

Who is the REAL JV team?

WaPo gives Obama 4 Pinocchio for denying he called ISIS JV

Nine months ago, Barack Obama gave an interview to David Remnick of The New Yorker after ISIS, the very accomplished and high-achieving Islamic killing machine in the Middle East, captured Fallujah, an Iraqi city for which many very good American soldiers had sacrificed their lives and limbs taking from Sunni jihadists in 2004.

Remnick asked Obama about al-Qaida’s resurgence in Iraq. Obama responded by suggesting to Remnick that he had, pretty much, personally killed Osama bin Laden three years earlier and, pretty much, singlehandedly “decimated” al-Qaida.

Remnick pointed out to Obama that since he had ordered U.S. military forces to leave Iraq the al-Qaida flag was now flying over Fallujah. ISIS, regarded as an al-Qaida affiliate in Iraq, had since taken over the city. Read more at: wnd.com.

The Unemployed: America’s New Leisure Class

For those of you who truly work for a living, how do you feel about funding limitless vacation time for the unemployed?

“Only 18.9 percent of Americans who were unemployed (in surveys  conducted from 2009 through 2013) spent time in job search and  interviewing activities on an average day, according to BLS. Yet 40.8  percent of the unemployed did some kind of shopping on the average  day–either in a store, by telephone, or on the Internet. 22.5 percent  of the unemployed, according to BLS, were shopping for items other than  groceries, food and gas.”

“An unemployed person—on the average day—was more likely to spend time  on shopping, sports and recreation, socializing and leisure, than they  were searching for and interviewing for a new job, according to BLS.

According to BLS, 96.7 percent of the unemployed spent time during  the average day participating in “socializing, relaxing, and leisure”  activities and spent, on average, 5.93 hours on those activities—or more  than twice the number of hours they spent job searching.”

Breitbart News Says IRS Targeted Company for Audit

The company that runs the conservative Breitbart.com news site says the IRS has selected the network for an audit, in a move company executives suggest is politically motivated.

Breitbart News Network, a California-based company which runs several conservative websites, says the IRS recently audited its 2012 financial information.

“The Obama administration’s timing on this is exquisite, but try as they might through various methods to silence us, we will only get more emboldened,” Stephen K. Bannon, executive chairman of Breitbart News Network, said in a written statement. Read more at foxnews.com.

Walter Williams: Billions For Politics Because Of Government Power

“A far better explanation for the  billions going to the campaign coffers of Washington politicians and  lobbyists lies in the awesome government power and control over  business, property, employment and other areas of our lives. Having such  power, Washington politicians are in the position to grant special  privileges, extend favors, change laws and do other things that if done  by a private person would land him in jail. The major component of  congressional power is the use of the IRS to take the earnings of one  American to give to another.”

“We Americans have asked,  demanded and allowed congressmen to ignore their oaths of office and  ignore the constitutional limitations imposed on them”

O’Keefe Brings Attention to Open Northern US Border

HOUSTON, Texas — Journalist James O’Keefe’s latest video brings attention to the lack of security along the U.S. border with Canada and the ability of terrorists to enter the U.S. by boat.

O’Keefe explains that Security experts say the rise of ISIS in Syria and Iraq has significantly increased the risk of an attack in the United States. O’Keefe explores the questions, “If an ISIS terrorist could get to Canada, could he hire a boat, could he bring poison or even the Ebola virus? Could he get across Lake Erie and into the United States … and could he do it without getting caught?” Continue reading at Breitbart.com.

Third Party An Option?

September 9, 2014 by

Great article about UK’s Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party. Read it in its entirety and note that the prominence  of the third party (which is still decidedly a minority position) has taken over two decades. In light of the catastrophic conditions we currently face in the United States one must decide: do we have the luxury of time to bring a third party to prominence? Or do we co-opt the progressive Republican leadership of the GOP?

“Farage said of the Republican Party in the U.S. “If I was living over here, I would say to myself alright number one we’ve got to reclaim our party—we’ve got to take it away from being safe and establishment, because that way you’re never going to win because the Democrats have certain built-in advantages. If you are unable to reclaim your party, you might have to do a UKIP.”

“Outsiders loathed by the establishment, UKIP’s brand of conservative populism has been infectious throughout Britain. Farage’s party is now remarkably poised to—depending on how it does in next May’s election for House of Commons seats—become the minority party in a coalition government with the Conservatives, colloquially known as Tories, giving it considerable power. In the U.S., conservatives have warred with moderates over the soul of the GOP for decades, from the Goldwater era to the most recent fights over Tea Party primary challenges and immigration legislation.”

Government Employee Mandates Adversely Affect The Workforce

Forcing employee mandates on employers always has a deleterious effect on the workforce even though the government and mainstream media maintain the opposite. This article gives an example the dynamics of which can be applied to every forced compliance in the workplace.

“Amid all the focus on boosting the minimum wage and legislating living wages,  virtually no one seems to have noticed what is happening to the workweek in  low-wage industries.

Since December 2012, private industries paying up to about $14.50 an hour  have added, on net, 972,000 nonsupervisory jobs with an average workweek of a  mere 17.7 hours, an IBD analysis finds.”
