ALERT! Carrying Firearms During Mandatory Evacuation
FROM: Marion P. Hammer, USF Executive Director, NRA Past President
SB-290, Firearms/Emergency Evacuation by Senator Jeff Brandes (R-St. Petersburg) is scheduled to be heard in the Senate Community Affairs Committee on Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at 1:00PM.
SB-290 is a bill to protect citizens from being disarmed and charged with a crime for carrying a weapon or firearm during a mandatory evacuation ordered by the Governor or local government during a declared state of emergency.
WHY DO WE NEED SB-290?
When you’re ordered under a mandatory evacuation to take your family, pets and important documents and leave your home and other belongings behind, you should be not be deprived of the ability to protect yourself and your family. You should not be denied the right to take your firearms with you rather than leave them behind for looters. This bill is especially important for law-abiding people in a state that is prone to evacuations due to hurricanes. This bill is about your safety and the safety of your family. Read the bill here: SB-290 Emergency Evacuation

Let’s have some fun! The rally ends in the afternoon, but don’t leave town. Stick around for dinner that evening.
The Tea Party Network will be meeting for dinner at a local restaurant in Tallahassee and you will have the chance to network with fellow Tea Party groups from across the state. Anytime The Tea Party Network brings people together you can be promised a good time. We have a lot to talk about. With the Presidential election campaigns already underway, it is up to us to deliver Florida and give the country a clear conservative victory in 2016. Let’s work together and not allow the big party establishment to select our next candidate.
We the people need to take charge, nominate the right candidates, win the election and restore our liberties!
NATIONAL HARBOR, Maryland–Here at CPAC, the speaker lineup got shuffled around to accommodate Sen. Rand Paul’s voting schedule in the Senate. That led to a big delay for a large group of young Jeb Bush supporters who arrived in time to boost their candidate’s CPAC speech.
Instead of Jeb Bush, who was expected to speak at 1:40 this afternoon, supporters found Duck Dynasty’s Phil Robertson on stage.
As the delay continued, the influx of Bush supporters wearing red “Jeb!” stickers thumbed through their smart phones and waited patiently in the ballroom aisles for their candidate. Many of the ballroom chairs weren’t filled, but they appeared willing to stay standing in groups. Continue reading at breitbart.com.
Here’s Jeb’s full speech if you can sit through it.
For those who may still be unsure about the whole Net – Neutrality issue or just want more information to solidify that it is a terrible thing, please click on the link below for a great article about PRIVATE PROPERTY and Government control. It is a little long but very worth while. As a matter of fact, please forward it on to your email lists.
By Raymond C. Niles-
Net neutrality advocates such as Stanford law professor Lawrence Lessig liken the Internet to a “commons”—to “public property,” akin to state-owned highways and municipal parks. They call for the Internet to be treated as if it were “public property,” managed by the government in accordance with the “public welfare.” On these grounds, they advocate that the Internet remain a “neutral platform” where “the network owner can’t discriminate against some [data] packets while favoring others.” Plainly stated, net neutrality is the idea that the Internet is “public property”; thus, the government must ensure that online content is delivered in a “neutral,” non-preferential fashion.
But delivered by whom? To hold that the Internet is a “commons” or “public property” is to evade its actual nature; the Internet is a network of privately owned personal computers, servers, and cable. Ignoring this fact and pretending to themselves that the Internet is “public property,” proponents of net neutrality seek government control over private property—specifically that of Internet service providers.
In order to achieve net neutrality, its advocates hold that the Internet must remain, as they put it, a “stupid network,” meaning unregulated by an intelligence that might favor the transmission of some content over other content.11 But because data is transmitted through the private property of ISPs—the expensive cables, computers, and other infrastructure that make the Internet possible—what they actually advocate is denying ISPs the right to manage their own property. The “stupid” Internet that net neutrality advocates desire is one in which ISPs must, under threat of government force, remain largely passive with regard to how data flows through their lines and over their networks. An ISP’s role, according to net neutrality advocates, is to pay for and then provide a “stupid network” of “dumb pipe” (i.e., bandwidth capacity) to customers, who can use it however they please.12 Fearing the decisions that ISPs might make with respect to their own property, net neutrality advocates seek to impose their conception of how the Internet should work—via government force.
In essence, beneath their calls to preserve “economic innovation” and “free speech online,” net neutrality proponents advocate government control of the privately owned infrastructure that makes the Internet possible. To what types of controls will adherence to net neutrality lead, and how will these affect Internet service providers and their customers?
Thursday at the Federal Communications Commission meeting on open Internet rules and access to broadband Internet, Commissioner Ajit Pai made a statement before the FCC vote to take unprecedented control over the internet with a secret plan.
Transcript as follows:
“The Wall Street Journal reports that it was developed through ‘an unusual secretive effort inside the White House.’ Indeed, White House officials, according to the Journal, functioned as a parallel version of the FCC. Their work led to the president’s announcement in November of his plan for internet regulation, a plan which the report says blindsided the FCC and swept aside months of work by Chairman Wheeler toward a compromise. Now, of course, a few insiders were clued in about what was transpiring. Here’s what a leader for the government-funded group Fight for the Future had to say, ‘We’ve been hearing for weeks from our allies in D.C that the only thing that could stop FCC chairman Tom Wheeler from moving ahead with his sham proposal to gut net neutrality was if we could get the president to step in. So we did everything in our power to make that happen. We took the gloves off and played hard, and now we get to celebrate a sweet victory. Congratulations. what the press has called the parallel FCC at the White House opened its door to a plethora of special interest activists. Daily Kos, Demand Progress, Fight for the Future, Free Press, and Public Knowledge, just to name a few. Indeed, even before activists were blocking the chairman’s driveway late last year, some of them had met with executive branch officials.
“But what about the rest of the American people? They certainly couldn’t get White House meetings. They were shut out of the process altogether. They were being played for fools. And the situation didn’t improve once the White House announced President Obama’s plan, and ‘asked’ the FCC to implement it. The document in front of us today differs dramatically from the proposal that the FCC put out for comment last May, and it differs so dramatically that even zealous net neutrality advocates frantically rushed in, in recent days, to make last-minute filings, registering their concerns that the FCC might be going too far. Yet, the American people, to this day, have not been allowed to see President Obama’s plan. It has remained hidden. Continue reading and watch the VIDEO at breitbart.com.
It looks like those Americans-in-Waiting will have to wait a little longer.*
U.S. District Judge Andrew Hanen has denied the Justice Department’s request to stay his injunction against Obama’s executive action on immigration.
The Obama administration submitted a request Monday for Judge Hanen to lift his temporary ban on the executive amnesty program by Wednesday, hoping that Hanen would allow the program to go forward while the case worked its way through court. Read more at truthrevolt.org.

The America that has existed from the days of the Declaration of Independence in 1776, when its sovereignty was acknowledged by a treaty with England 1783, and its founding in 1788 with the ratification of the Constitution is no more. The America for which thousands fought and gave their lives is no more.
That America ends on February 26 when the Federal Communications Commission, under intense pressure from the Obama White House and with the votes of its Democratic Party commissioners asserts government control over the Internet with a 332-page set of regulations, dubbed “Net Neutrality.”
Writing in the Feb 22nd Wall Street Journal, columnist L. Gordon Crovitz summed up what will occur saying “Obamanet promises to fix an Internet that isn’t broken…The permissionless Internet which allows anyone to introduce a website, app, or device without government review, ends this week.”
“The big politicization came when President Obama in November demanded that the supposedly independent FCC apply agency’s most extreme regulation to the Internet.” Of course Obama wants the Internet regulated and of course the Democratic Party will support this move to control who gets to put up a website or blog and, more importantly, who gets to say anything critical of the President.
The Democratic Party has been in everything but name the Communist Party in the United States for several decades. Obama was raised and mentored to be a Marxist. What we are witnessing is nothing less than tyranny replacing democracy.
Crovitz warned that “This week Mr. Obama’s bureaucrats will give him the regulated Internet he demands. Unless Congress or the courts block Obamanet, it will be the end of the Internet as we know it.”
Earlier this week, as reported by Giuseppe Macri in The Daily Caller the FCC’s two Republican commissioners, Ajit Pai and Michael O’Rielly, asked Chairman Tom Wheeler “to delay the vote and release his proposal to the public. ‘We respectfully request that FCC leadership immediately release the 332-page Internet regulation plan publicly and allow the American people a reasonable period of not less than 30 days to carefully study it.’”
There is some evil at work here because, as the Republican commissioners point out, “the plan in front of us right now is so drastically different than the proposal the FCC adopted and put out for public comment last May.”
Shades of ObamaCare! Even the Democrats who voted that monstrosity into law had not read it. Now neither Congress, nor the rest of America is being permitted to see regulations that will determine what can and cannot be posted to the Internet, the greatest instrument of free speech ever invented since the printing press.
Commissioner Pai says that the FCC is “adopting a solution that won’t work to a problem that doesn’t exist using legal authority we don’t have.” He estimates that the regulations will add up to $11 billion in new taxes on Internet access.
In a commentary, “Neutralize Obama’s Hijacking of the Internet”, Judi McLeod, the editor of CanadaFreePress.com, said “Forget NSA, the FBI, the CIA, and all warnings sent by Edward Snowden. They’ve got nothing on how Net Neutrality will silence you.”
“Someday in the near future when you type in the words “Islamic terrorists” in an Internet post, you will be knocked off the Net and find it all but impossible to climb back on again.”
Do I think the Congress will exercise its oversight responsibilities and stop this tyrannical power grab? No. Do I think our court system will do anything other than bow to precedent set by earlier FCC regulations? Yes.
As a nation founded on and devoted to freedom of speech, I think February 26, 2015 will go down in the history books as the day when that freedom came to an end in America [bold type, mine].
Thanks to a National Security Agency we no longer have any privacy regarding anything we say using telephones, the Internet or any other form of communication.
If the Democrat-controlled FCC has its way, the Internet will slow your access and could eliminate access [sic] countless sites that provide news and express opinions the federal government finds offensive. That’s what tyrannies do.

This is IMPORTANT. Net Neutrality will kill the internet and our Free Speech as we know it – How is Obamacare working out for YOU?
February 26 is Internet Doom’s Day.
Written by: Seton Motley
That is the day President Barack Obama’s campaign-coin-bundling Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Tom Wheeler will jam through President Obama’s Title-II-Reclassification-Net-Neutrality power grab.
(At this point, I wish Chairman Wheeler had instead been appointed an ambassador – like oh-so-many other Obama contributors.)
Meanwhile, President Obama wants to ramp up government-provided broadband. To fill the void his Internet regulatory body slam will create in the private sector.
And here is where a free market problem begets a free speech one.
As we know, government control leads to rationing – in this case bandwidth. As we know from the Internal Revenue Service scandal – it is Less Government advocates that will get the short end of the government stick.
Democrat donors will never have to wait in line for ObamaCare medical attention. Or Web downloads.
All of which and more is laid out in this Public Service Announcement (PSA).
Please contact your Senators and Congressmen – and demand they do everything they can to rein in this rogue Commission:
“Obama’s plan for the Internet – Net Neutrality, Title II Reclassification – is Socialism for the Internet. It guarantees everyone equal amounts of nothing.
“What this is – is an assault on the industry to effect an ideological outcome.
“Where have we seen this before? ObamaCare.
“Likewise, with the Internet – with Title II Reclassification and Net Neutrality – this is an assault on the Internet industry to effect that same ideological outcome.
“This is why Barack Obama is trying to fund through federal money the local governments’ foolhardy notion of getting into the broadband business.
“He wants to ramp that up to fill the void he is creating with Net Neutrality and Title II Reclassification
“And when this government presence grows as the private presence shrinks – this very quickly becomes a free market problem that begets a free speech problem.
“When government is the sole Internet Service Provider (ISP), bandwidth rationing becomes a problem just like health care rationing becomes a problem.
“And then when they’re rationing and deciding who gets bandwidth and who doesn’t. As we’ve seen from the IRS, the Left-wing websites won’t have a problem getting bandwidth – it’s going to be the Right-wing websites who will have a problem getting bandwidth.
“The people who are going to be waiting in line – whether it’s for health care, whether it’s for bandwidth – are the people who are opposed to Big Government, the people who are opposed to government takeovers of private sectors.
“So a free market assault begets a free speech problem.
“All of which is consolidated and compiled into the February 26 Internet power grab takeover that’s going to happen at the Federal Communications Commission.”

Rudy Giuliani continued to defend his comments about President Barack Obama not “loving” America during a combative appearance on Fox News with Megyn Kelly Thursday night. Asked if he wanted to apologize for his comment, the former NYC mayor said, “Not at all, I want to repeat it.” [Bold type, mine]
“To say that he doesn’t love [A]america, I mean, that he could view foreign policy as a Democrat might view it and through a different lens than you or a Republican might see it, you can understand the differences between you,” Kelly said to Giuliani. “But to condemn his patriotism? To question his love of America?”

Wetumpka Tea Party President Becky Gerritson was first propelled into the national spotlight in 2013 when she became the face of a controversy surrounding alleged targeting of conservative groups by the Internal Revenue Service.
Now, Gerritson said she is considering running for Congress from Alabama’s Second District, currently represented by Republican Martha Roby of Montgomery.
Gerritson isn’t pulling any punches on why she might run.

And what about all that talk of the Constitution and our Founding Fathers back in 2010 Sen. (then Mr.) Rubio?
By Matthew Boyle
UPDATE: Rubio’s spokesman Alex Conant reached out to Breitbart News after the publication of this article to clarify the senator’s position.
“Senator Rubio does not support shutting down DHS,” Conant said in a statement. “But he does support stopping the new executive order on immigration and is willing to support any approach we could get passed to stop it. But the President had made clear he will veto any effort to stop his unconstitutional order. And Senate Democrats have made clear they will not even end their filibuster on the DHS funding bill. The result will be a DHS shutdown which would be harmful to our national security. The answer is not for Republicans to surrender and pass a clean funding bill. The answer is for the President and Senate Democrats to abandon the executive order and cooperate in passing a series of immigration bills beginning with real border security.”
Conant also provided the entire transcript of Rubio’s remarks, which includes the exact quote from above and means the meaning of this story and the context in which it was put are accurate. Read the rest of this article at breitbart.com.
