Maurice Strong: An Enemy of Our Freedoms

For 40 years Tom DeWeese has been a businessman, grassroots activist, writer and publisher. As such, he
has always advocated a firm belief in man’s need to keep moving forward while
protecting our Constitutionally-guaranteed rights.

“How many of you know of Maurice Strong – and that he is evil?”

Maurice Strong has the potential to be the most powerful
and most evil dictator the world has ever known – right now – today – in our day
and age – and yet, most of you have never heard of him.

So let me sound the warning bell – loud and long. Maurice Strong will, in all likely hood
be the next Secretary General of the United Nations.”

The assault on property rights – in fact the entire radical environmental agenda – is being driven by
the United Nations. And Maurice Strong is the number one force behind UN
environmental policy. Maurice Strong is the leader of a radical contingent of
Environmentalists that believe technology and modern industrialization must be
stopped.”

Americans Are FAT! Time to Crack Down!

This article is important, not because it is yet another advocacy of control over the lives of Americans, but because it absolves all citizens of PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY. I have learned that many citizens either do not understand personal responsibility and individual freedom or are actually afraid of taking responsibility for their actions and facing the consequences, be they good or bad, of their decisions. A citizenry devoid of the ability to take action as individuals are ripe for the imposition of tyranny.

“In an ambitious 478-page report, the IOM refutes the idea that obesity is largely the result of a lack of willpower on the part of individuals. Instead, it embraces policy proposals that have met with stiff resistance from the food industry and lawmakers, arguing that multiple strategies will be needed to make the U.S. environment less “obesogenic.”

“People have heard the advice to eat less and move more for years, and during that time a large number of Americans have become obese,” IOM committee member Shiriki Kumanyika of the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine told Reuters. “That advice will never be out of date. But when you see the increase in obesity you ask, what changed? And the answer is, the environment. The average person cannot maintain a healthy weight in this obesity-promoting environment.”

Earth Day and the Great “Sustainability” Lie

Americans are paying the hangman for the rope.

It is estimated that since the origin of the global warming hoax in the late 1980s, Americans have seen $50 billion of their dollars thrown down the climate change rat hole.

In a January CNSnews commentary, Elizabeth Harrington noted that “A study by the Government Accountability Office (GAO) determined that the United States (has been) funding the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC), the United Nations’ authority on alleged man-made global warming, with $31.1 million since 2001, nearly half of the panel’s annual budget.”

“In a Nov. 17, 2011 report, ‘International Climate Change Assessments: Federal Agencies Should Improve Reporting and Oversight of U.S. Funding’, the GAO found that the State Department provided $19 million for administrative and other expenses, while the United States Global Change Research Program provided $12.1 million in technical support through the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSP), averaging an annual $3.1 million to the IPCC over 10 years—$31.1 million so far.” Continue reading on canadafreepress.com.

You may have heard people talking about Sustainable Development - on TV, radio and public meetings.  But  what is Sustainable Development or the UN Agenda 21?

WHAT IS IT? A disregard for American freedom, private liberties, and property rights.  A Republican National Committee Resolution has been passed “to heighten awareness of United Nations Agenda 21, International Council for Local Environmental (ICLE)’s initiatives’ impact on communities in the United States”.  The action pegs Agenda 21 as a “comprehensive plan of extreme environmentalism, social engineering and global political control.”

Community after community, people are now more aware of one of the biggest threats facing our American way of life – U.N. Agenda 21!

It does have a direct effect on YOU, your property rights and personal liberties!!!

California: Urban Planning For All Of Us!

Read full article to learn the vision the Alachua County commission, prompted by the City of Gainesville commissioners, has for our community. Citizens squeezed into ever waning living quarters and only allowing mass transit for travel. California has long been a leader in political trends..so every voter must decide: is this the future you want? Note the California initiatives that embrace Agenda 21.

“For its part, the Southern California Association of Governments wants to
require more than one-half of the new housing in Los Angeles County and five
other Southern California counties to be concentrated in dense, so-called
transit villages, with much of it at an even higher 30 or more units per acre.

To understand how dramatic a change this would be, consider that if the
planners have their way, 68% of new housing in Southern California by 2035 would
be condos and apartment complexes.”

“The love affair urban planners have for a future ruled by mass transit will be
obscenely expensive and would not reduce traffic congestion. In San Diego, for
example, an expanded bus and rail transit system is planned to receive more than
half of the $48.4 billion in total highway and transit spending through 2050.
Yet transit would increase its share of travel to a measly 4% from its current
tiny 2%, according to data in the San Diego Association of Governments regional
transportation plan. This slight increase in mass transit ridership would be
swamped by higher traffic volumes.”

Solar Trust: Yet Another Green Energy Bankruptcy

Solar Trust (rather ironic name, doncha think?) is caving.

Interesting…taxpayer subsidized green energy projects are dropping like flies and government bureaucrat Blythe City Manager David Lane calls this one a “little blip”? Maybe because he knows that the taxpayer will continue to ante up while the Fed continues to print money?? Just guessing…

Solar Trust is the latest failure in a solar-industry shakeout that began last year when Northern California-based panel manufacturer Solyndra closed its doors, defaulting on a $535 million federal loan guarantee.”

“Blythe City Manager David Lane told the Desert Sun of Palm Springs that residents are taking the Solar Trust bankruptcy in stride.

“It’s a little blip,” Mr. Lane said. “I don’t think people are as disappointed as you might think. … When you consider the amount of investment in the project and what it’s got going for it, someone is going to build it.”

Ed Braddy: Citizen Preference Vs Smart Growth Government Planners

Don’t miss two excellent articles that showcase just what so many communities are facing as “smart growth” and “sustainable development” planners make their way through local governments!

Ed Braddy, expert on “sustainable transit” development and local radio talk show co-host of Talk of the Town on 99.5, has published a two-part series for New Geography have now been published.  He addresses the overwhelming citizen preference for detached, single family housing versus Smart Growth government planners who prefer multi-family dwellings and skate around the central issue – density – that determines what type of housing can actually be built.

“The two core features of Smart Growth land use — high densities and multi-family dwellings — are simply not preferred by most Americans in most places, despite the trendy push for Livability, New Urbanism, Resilient Cities, Smart Codes, Traditional Neighborhood Design, Transit Oriented Developments or any other euphemistic, clever name currently in fashion.”

Taxpayer Funding for ICLEI (Local Governments for Sustainability) Still Available

Last September the House of Representatives passed legislation to DEFUND the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. Our post on 9/11/11:   ”We just had a major win in the House of Representatives to defund the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. (SEE this website: http://www.sustainablecommunities.gov/). This funding has been using YOUR tax dollars to promote the United Nations’ plan to control our government. The Senate is now being lobbied to restore this funding.”

It appears that the lobbying effort was successful as evidenced by information provided by an informed member.

Portland, Oregon: Insane and Insufferable

Pegeen,  Hawkins, Byerly: our own little Goldschmidt wannabes! And all you second-class citizens get ready to pay. The trolleys are coming to Gainesville and bus rapid transit to Alachua County with no road repair in sight. You should take the time to read the full article so you will be knowledgable when your tax bill rises and your opportunities to prosper dwindle. Or maybe you will do something about it before we get mired down in total insanity.

“The same year Portland began implementing its urban growth boundary, Neil Goldschmidt became mayor. Goldschmidt quickly recognized that the land-use-transportation connection could be exploited to political ends, and this insight would make him the state’s largest powerbroker for decades to come.”

“Goldschmidt had to find an irrationally expensive new mode of public transportation, and thus began liberal America’s love affair with “light rail.” And light rail had another advantage over buses, namely that the laying of tracks and the placement of stations allowed Goldschmidt even more power to manipulate land use, making him a kingmaker among developers.”

“Vaunted though it might be, Portland’s light rail system hasn’t been the success its planners hoped. It’s called “light” rail not because the trains are less heavy, but because it’s more lightly used by the public than, say, New York’s subway or Washington, D.C.’s Metro. Over the course of the 1980s, the city’s first light rail line was finally completed, and the percentage of Portlanders using public transportation declined.”

“So I may be 3,000 miles away as I write this, but I’m not a disinterested observer. Perhaps some time and distance are needed before rendering an impartial judgment on what has become of a city that you truly know and love. Unlike the New York Times, I write not to praise the place but to note the litany of things that plainly have gone wrong. Also to alert anyone else who’s listening: Right now, America’s civil and social engineers are beavering away trying to turn your city or town into the next Portlandia.”

A Blow to Agenda 21: Defunding the Partnership for Sustainable Communities

We just had a major win in the House of Representatives to defund the federal Partnership for Sustainable Communities. (SEE this website: http://www.sustainablecommunities.gov/). This funding has been using YOUR tax dollars to promote the United Nations’ plan to control our government. The Senate is now being lobbied to restore this funding.  We MUST lobby our Senators as defunding this partnership will be a major deterrent to the advancement of Agenda 21. We are asking everyone to email our Senators and ask to approve DEFUNDING in the Senate.  WE MUST get EVERYONE we know to send the message: WE DO NOT WANT the United Nations’ AGENDA 21 controlling our lives in America!

Agenda 21 And Massive Federal Spending Go Hand In Hand

This article underscores why our country is in such financial upheaval and showcases Agenda 21 overreach. Interesting that more money than ever is available from the federal government to purchase land for preservation (defined as never to be developed) taking advantage of a financial crisis forcing private citizens to sell to anyone with the dollars to buy. And our Florida Agricultural commissioner Adam Putnam is fully supportive of this usurpation of property rights. This is the  spending and abuse of freedom that is morally and financially bankrupting our country.

“USDA announced $100 million in financial assistance, the largest amount of funding Florida has received through the WRP in a single year, to acquire permanent easements from eligible landowners in four counties and assist with wetland restoration on nearly 24,000 acres of agricultural land in the Northern Everglades Watershed.”

Obama’s Latest Plan to Control Americans: Through His Rural Council

Tom DeWeese, one of America’s leading experts on the dangers of “sustainable development”, has started a petition to oppose Obama’s Executive Order #13575 that provides for a White House Rural Council, populated by his czars and poised to control all citizens.

“Obama has made his biggest move ever to enforce government tyranny across this nation.”

  • This move is more damaging than his destruction of the American health care system.
  • It is more dangerous to the economy than his failed bailouts.
  • It is more communistic than his takeover of the banking and auto industries.

Late last month, Obama signed Executive Order #13575 to create an absolute dictatorship over America’s rural lands. Obama’s land Czars are coming to the farms.

  • Executive Order #13575 creates a White House Rural Council.
  • The new council consists of 25 Cabinet Secretaries, chaired by the Secretary of Agriculture.
  • The mission of the Council is to:
  • “…work across executive departments, agencies, and offices to coordinate development of policy recommendations to promote economic prosperity and quality of life in rural America, and shall coordinate my Administration’s engagement with rural communities…”

That is top down – multi-jurisdictional enforcement of farming – right out of the UN’s Agenda 21.

This Executive Order, according to its first section, targets the 16% of Americans who live in rural areas. And it sets up “sustainable rural communities.”
