Message to our Patriots

May 14, 2012 by

Hi,Everyone!

Last week there was some confusion displayed by a local radio talk show host as to whether the Gainesville Tea
Party is endorsing a specific candidate for the Alachua county commission election. The confusion appeared to have been caused by a personal email sent by me urging attendance at a fundraiser for this candidate. This email was not sent to our membership but was sent to selected recipients and was not a public memo. Gainesville Tea Party continues to not endorse candidates but will vet candidates and hold forums for our members and the public. The steering committee does not publicly endorse candidates. We do encourage all of our members to become personally involved with candidates to help those that hold our values get elected.

That being said, to be clear and to hopefully end any possible controversy I am announcing that I personally support John Martin for the District 1 seat. And I urge everyone to get to work to help the candidates of your choice! This election is crucial if we are to ensure limited government and fiscal responsibility are returned to our government.

Thank you all for all that you do!

Show Down This Friday- Talk of The Town 99.5

May 10, 2012 by
Filed under GTP Info, Hot Topics

Please tune in to Talk of The Town this Friday on the STAR 99.5 at HIGH NOON  as your GTP Vice President will inquire why the hosts have continued to state that the GTP is in favor of a sales tax. After a month of listening to  them spread misinformation while disparaging the GTP leadership, it’s time to have them lay the cards on the table. I will state our position on the referendum, the voters and some candidates who have helped with the false allegations. It’s time to get the facts out to the voters.

Will the cowboy on the appaloosa ride another day?

Hopefully the hosts will allow me to stay on and talk about a myriad of issues confronting all of us.

So please listen Talk of The Town tomorrow at high noon on The Star 99.5. Do call in as your thoughts and concerns are important.

You can also catch the show live as it streams on line at www.thestar.fm

Thanks,

Rod Gonzalez

Attend This Saturday’s Monthly Meeting To Learn About A New Media Platform-

No longer will the only reporting available be what is spoon fed to the public through a filter controlled by the mainstream media and elite paid political consultants from both parties, all deciding what they want the public to hear.  The voices “of the people, by the people, and for the people” will be heard through B!G Voices Media, our media.

Big Voices Media’s, Ken Hazen, will give a presentation about the new  platform, a la Glenn Beck, and answer any questions you may have.  This could be just the tool we have all been waiting on. Imagine, not having to relying on the liberal media or on WordpRess, Facebook or YouTube censoring our information.  Might we even end up with a GTP channel?????

So attend our monthly meeting this Saturday Jan 21st at 10AM and bring a friend and family member. We look forward to seeing you there!

NOTE: NEW LOCATION!!!  The American Legion Hall, Post 16,  located in Gainesville at 4701 NW 6th Street (near the intersection of  NW 13th Street (441 north) and NW 6th St, next to the old “Rancher” building.

“You’re NOT Alone”

January 19, 2012 by
Filed under GTP Info, Tea Party

Tea Party came to be three years ago so patriots could find one another and work together to change our country back to the principles of the Constitution. Our own James Sharp reminds us that you are NOT alone!

“You’re NOT Alone!”  by James M. Sharp

Do you shake your head in amazement every time you hear news reports that indicate that President Obama’s approval ratings are somewhere near fifty percent? Do you find yourself asking, “Exactly WHO are these fifty percent?” If so, you’re not alone.

If you curse each time you fill the tank on your car as you pay somewhere around $3.50 per gallon remembering that, when Obama was inaugurated, you were paying less than two dollars, you’re not alone.

If you find yourself disgusted nearly every single visit to the grocery store as you see a steady increase in price or decrease in package size (or both) of most of the products that you buy every day, you’re not alone.

If you’ve seen the value of your home continue to fall – even though the housing crisis supposedly took place several years ago, you’re not alone. If you’ve been responsibly making your house payment while some people are receiving government-mandated loan modifications, you’re not alone.

If you’re sick and tired of seeing the US Justice Department shooting down state legislatures’ attempts to protect their citizens from illegal aliens, you’re not alone. If you find yourself wondering how Eric Holder can still have a job in the wake of the “Fast & Furious” scandal, you’re not alone.

If you are outraged at the thought of South Carolina fighting a federal government that attempted to prevent Boeing Corporation from opening an aircraft plant in that state, you’re not alone.

Do you find yourself in utter amazement at governmental spending programs use your hard-earned dollars for such insane items as treadmills for shrimp? Do you find it reprehensible that the executives of Solyndra got away with pilfering a half billion dollars of your money with no one being held accountable? And where did that $800 billion stimulus go. Did you stop to wonder why the unemployment rate has averaged over nine percent since Obama was inaugurated in spite of all of that money being spent? Well, my friend, you’re not alone.

Have you grown discouraged by the fact that you go to work – or, if you’re retired, went to work – day in and day out only to watch your elected officials give YOUR money to people that, for whatever reason, will not do for themselves? Have you paused to count the number of governmental programs that are in place to “help the less-fortunate”? Have you wondered why, in spite of all of those programs, there are still poor people? If so, you’re not alone.

Take heart in the fact that you’re not alone. The election of 2012 is going to go down in history as a turning point in American history.

Will you go to the polls in November to vote out of office the commander-in-chief that has presided over the most prolonged period of high unemployment since the Great Depression? The president that has managed, with a complicit Congress, in just three years, to amass a debt that eclipses the total combined debt of all of the presidents from Washington through George H.W. Bush?

If so, you’re DEFINITELY not alone!

Introducing a new media platform.  This time the microphone belongs to US!

That’s right.  We’re taking the media back – On the way to taking our country back.  From now on the grassroots will take control of our own destiny.  This is going to be big.  And it’s starting with live broadcasts from the Iowa Caucuses next week (see below).  And then be sure to attend our next regular monthly meeting on January 7th to see how you can be involved in this peaceful media revolution on an ongoing basis.

CNN/Tea Party Presidential Debate

Last night a historical event occurred in Tampa: the inaugural Tea Party Presidential debate! Tea Party groups from across the nation gathered to ask questions and hear the platforms of the candidates for the 2012 Presidentail election. Featured were the Florida groups of which I am proud to say included Gainesville Tea Party and our Tea Party Network (groups from north central Florida). As we move forward towards 2012 we must remain steadfast to our values: limited government, fiscal responsibility and free markets, the values upon which our country was founded and the only values that will preserve the individual freedom and prosperity that we have enjoyed as citizens of the greatest nation in the history of mankind. NOW is the time to get involved! Find your candidate, both local and state, and WORK to get these candidates elected! We have the unique opportunity to change the face of American politics and turn this country around from the sprint towards socialism. We urge you to give both time and money to your local candidates and to get involved with the election process. Be a poll worker! Be a poll watcher! The 2012 election is the most important election of your lifetime and to sit on the sidelines is to encourage the fall of our country. It is your responsibility to pledge to work as hard as you can to return our countrty to the principles of the Constitution. Join us in our fight!

Exciting New GTP Meeting Location

Filed under GTP Info, Local Info, Press Releases

GOOD NEWS! We have been able to secure a new location for our monthly general membership meetings! Because we could not continue using the previous location we had to cancel May and June’s meetings; however, because of the efforts of our own Bruce Nelson (member and great patriot) we are happy to announce our new location at the American Legion Hall located just off of 441 North. The legion post officials have been most welcoming and we are so pleased that we can associate with such a wonderful group!

Our next meeting will be Saturday, July 23, at 10:00 – 12:00 and we are planning a very informative program PLUS you will have a chance to meet the current Alachua County commission candidates runing for the 2012 seats.

PLAN TO BE THERE! BRING YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS! Get involved and help us work towards turning our country around. NEXT DEADLINE: November 2012!

The American Legion - Haisley Lynch Post 16  is located in Gainesville at 4701 NW 6th Street ( intersection of 441 and NW 6th Street).

Presidential Debate Party

You’re invited to attend (and bring a friend) to a Presidential Debate Party!

The Republican Primary Presidential debate is being held this Monday, June 13th from 8-10pm on CNN.  We’ve got an area and TVs reserved at the Gainesville Ale House to watch this all important debate, which will help us separate the neocons from the true conservatives.  Confirmed candidates include: Michele Bachmann, Herman Cain, Newt Gingrich, Ron Paul, Tim Pawlenty, Mitt Romney, and Rick Santorum.  Hopefully Gary Johnson will also be able to attend, as the media would look pretty biased otherwise for not letting an announced candidate in the debate!

When: Monday, June 13th

Time: 8-10pm

Where: Gainesville Ale House, 3950 Southwest Archer Road, Gainesville, FL (352) 371-0818   Click here for map.

Hope to see you there!
