Minutes from 12/5/09 Gainesville Tea Party held at Tower Rd. Library (Thank you Michele Loeffler for taking minutes!)
Karianne Wilkins welcome address. Explained Rules of Order and Agenda, explained PayPal.
Rules of Order voted on and passed. Announcement of Feb.6 event from 12-3 at Gainesville Target Range, to have speakers, booths, possible entertainment and food for sale (BBQ).
Volunteers were solicited for the event with sign up sheets.
Introduction of candidates. Terry Martin-Back, an independent for 3rd District is asking for election support running against Corrine Brown. Keith Perry, running for election in District 22.
Donations were asked for to fund the 2/6 event. Karianne asked for suggestions of other events and organizations the G’ville T.P. Group could speak at besides the Bob Rose show and Talk of the Town radio shows. The Mission Statement, website and committees were explained with showing the committee graph.
Don Marsh offered to research election candidates.
Darlene Pifalo explained the charter commission committee and will bring more information prior to the Nov. ballot.
Educational speaker Tom Hayes-Morrison, did sound bites on healthcare. Tom suggested we read Rules for Radicals by Saul Alinsky and spoke of the shift from free enterprise to socialism ruled by anger and redistrubion of wealth. 80% of people are not involved at all, 10% have a radical ideology. He explained how to use talking points and engage people to educate but not to argue. Our goal should be to talk with one person per day. Global warming and Cap & Trade is a fraud and our goal should be to destroy the credibility of main stream press and current politicians. Recommended reading State of Fear.

Face Book and Twitter are running and you can register on our website and get email updates. There is a form to share information and blog. A photo gallery is also available for the site.

Tom Hayes-Morrison offered to help educate groups for our organization.
Jote’ Thompson, a Libertarian, spoke of open system of voting; only electing constitutional judges
Terry Martin-Back encouraged everyone to research issues and candidates and vote for them
Tom Hayes-Morrison mentioned it is important to take people to the voting polls and teach them who to vote for like Acorn does!
Important dates to remember, March 27, education event in Orlando, April 15, March on Washington DC, Aug. 28 march on Washington DC
Bob Muni mentioned everyone in room are baby boomers and the importance of us educating the younger folks because our educational system has robbed them of truth and knowledge.

Alan Berkelhammer, told Michele L. that he confirmed that Dr. David Makalip can speak at the 12/6 event
Karianne asked everyone to be involved, volunteer and contact her. Next meeting 1/30 at Tower Rd. library from 10-12 unless a larger location is found. Group will be notified via email and the GTP website.
The meeting concluded after a short clip of the video The Five Thousand Year Leap.
A sign up sheet was available to see if there is enough interest to have a study group of the Five Thousand year Leap.
