Trans Pacific Partnership: What Do You Think?
WASHINGTON — Four senators sent a letter to the Obama administration on Monday asking for greater congressional access to negotiations on the Trans-Pacific Partnership, a controversial proposed free trade agreement that remains shrouded in secrecy.
“For over two and a half years, the global Elite have been negotiating an agreement that would define the global corporate police state in remarkable detail. The purpose of the agreement is to implement corporate dominance over not only our Constitutional Republic, but other sovereign nations.”
“Closed-door talks are on-going between the U.S. and Australia, Brunei, Chile, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam; with countries like Japan and China potentially joining later. 600 corporate advisors have access to the text, while the public, Members of Congress, journalists, and civil society are excluded. And so far what we know about what’s in there is very scary!”
“Last week, U.S. President Barack Obama formally extended an invitation to Canada to join the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) negotiations, a proposed trade deal that includes the U.S., Australia, Brunei, Chile, Malaysia, New Zealand, Peru, Singapore, and Vietnam (Mexico was also added last week). Supporters have lauded the TPP as potentially the world’s most important trade pact and the Canadian government spent months crossing the globe to lobby for an invitation.”
