Tea Party Network Legislative Summit in Tallahassee, January 9 & 10
The Tea Party Network’s Third Annual Summit January 9 & 10, 2012
It is hard to believe we have been going to Tallahassee for The Tea Party Network Summit three years now; how time flies when you are working to save your state and country. Fellow Network members from across the state will once again be in Tallahassee for the opening day of Florida’s legislative session, and we’d like for you to join us.
We will meet in room 117 of the Knott Building, which we have reserved from 12:30-5:00 pm on January 9th and from 8:00am-5:00pm on the 10th. You will have the opportunity to lobby your legislators from 9:00am-noon on Monday the 9th, have lunch, and then join everyone in room 117 for a “Legislative and Redistricting Workshop” at 1:00pm. Redistricting will be a major player in some areas this year, and everyone needs to understand the maps. Following the workshop we will have our annual board meeting at 3:00pm. Each group has a voice on this board, and we need you to be involved. Focus will be on where The Tea Party Network is going in 2012 regarding legislation and elections. We need you or a representative at this meeting. Plans are to have dinner together that evening.
On January 10th from 8:00am-9:00am we will host a coffee reception for all of our legislators in Room 117 of the Knott building. Plans are to attend the opening session ceremony at 9:00am in the Capitol. After that, we will be visiting our legislators, attend committee meetings etc.; other events to be announced for the afternoon.
Now is the time to make your reservations for lodging, (remember it is opening session week so hotels and motels will be filling up). The Candlewood Suites offers TTPN members a special rate of $49 for a single and $59 for a double. We recommend that you call the local Tallahassee number 850-597-7000 and request the TTPN rate instead of registering on-line. Of course you are welcome to stay at your favorite hotel.
We know this will be a sacrifice for many of you to come to Tallahassee just a few days after Christmas, but more than ever, we need to unite. Changing our state and our country begins with you.
