Upcoming Events

There are quite a few events going on in September so now is an excellent time to get out and get involved Patriots!

Flag Wave in Lake City on 9/4

The North Central Florida 9-12 Project group out of Lake City is having a flag wave (“Billboard Tea Party”) to get voters to pay attention to the candidates and issues in the upcoming election.  They’ve done this before with great success…tons of horn honking from the passing traffic (and the passing big rigs are especially fun!).  Beginning in October, the group will be meeting EVERY Saturday morning until the election!  Bring flags and brooms, which are to encourage a “clean sweep” in the November elections.

When: Saturday, September 4th, 2010

Time: 10:00am

Location: Billboard off of I-75 in Lake City, FL.  The billboard is located between I-75 and Hwy 47. To reach the billboard, take Sister’s Welcome Road (CR 341) to the I-75 overpass, look for the Evangel Church sign on the west side of the road just north of the overpass, across the road from the Cannon Creek air park.

Keystone Rally for 9/11 Remembrance

The Lake Area Patriot Tea Party is having a rally of remembrance on September 11th.  Attend to hear music and guest speakers who will educate and inspire you!  Speakers include Jay Anderson (WSKY 97.3FM Radio), KrisAnne Hall (Constitutional Lawyer & Former Assistant State Attorney), Gavin Rollins (Keystone Heights City Councilman), and Ena Sanders (Cuban Born/American Now).  Bring flags, signs, lawn chairs, and some drinks/snacks to make yourself comfortable at the event.

When: Saturday, September 11th, 2010

Time: 9:30am-1pm

Location: At Natural Park in Keystone Heights, FL.  The park is at 555 S. Lawrence Blvd (SR 21 South) location which is across from City Hall.

Get Involved

We currently recommend finding a candidate (or two) that you want to support this November and help with his/her campaign.  Most campaigns need help with passing out flyers, making phone calls, holding signs, and/or financial donations.  Contact the candidate’s campaign directly and ask how you can make a difference!

We also encourage members to get involved in this election season by becoming a poll worker on November 2nd.  You not only get to assist people but help prevent voter fraud!  This is a paid position and requires a few hours of training.  You may find out more about this process by going to the Alachua County Supervisor of Elections website.

Please help spread the word about GTP by sending out this flyer via email or by printing it out and giving it to everyone you know! Join GTP & Mission Statement

Principles NOT Parties!

“All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” ~Thomas Jefferson

“Anyone who trades liberty for security deserves neither liberty nor security.” ~Benjamin Franklin

This is a grassroots non-partisan group for people who are tired of the corruption and foolishness going on in Washington, D.C. People of differing political, religious, and ethnic backgrounds are always welcome. The more people the louder our voice! Please read Gainesville Tea Party’s mission statement to find out more about us.

Gainesville Tea Party is not associated with and does not endorse the Tea Party Political Party in the state of Florida.
